Application requirements
Qualifications necessary for entrance to the English Program at Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin
for the academic year 2012/2013
for the Faculty of Medicine (6-year MD Program) and Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (5-year DMD Program)
Admission is based on the following requirements:
(1) Each candidate needs to submit a high school diploma/certificate or matriculation diploma equivalent of such standard, which is required to enter a medical university in the country of the candidate's origin.
(2) Each candidate is expected to prove his/her education in the following subjects:
- chemistry (obligatory) - taught minimum 4 semesters (or 6 in case of an educational system of 3 semesters per year)
- biology or physics (having both is an advantage) - taught minimum 4 semesters (or 6 in case of an educational system of 3 semesters per year)
The application deadline is July 31.

Required documents (in English):
1- 50 EUR - application fee is to be paid prior to submitting your application and the proof is to be enclosed in your application. The EUR bank details can be found here. If wish to apply for both faculties, the application fee in such case is 100 EUR
2- Application form (.doc or .pdf version).
3- A copy of a high school certificate or matriculation diploma equivalent in your native language. If the diploma is not an original, in such case a copy need to be certified by a Notary Public or by your school, so-called 'certified true copy').
- please note that we will not accept regular photocopies or scan-printouts
4- An accurate English translation of a high school certificate or matriculation diploma equivalent, certified by a sworn translator or by your school (original or certified true copy)
5- School Certification to be filled in by the high school you have graduated from (original)
- please do not put Poland in a "country of residence" section unless you hold Polish Matura Certificate
6- Medical certificates:
- Health Certificate to be completed by your doctor (original) [not available yet]
- chest X-ray report (please do not send X-ray photos)
- vaccination card (vaccination against hepatitus virus B is required)
7- Birth certificate (original from Tax Office, church or certified true copy)
- please note that all accepted candidates from outside EU will be required to have a Polish sworn translation of their birth certificates in order to apply for a Temporary Residence Card [Karta Pobytu] in Poland
8- Passport photocopy
9- Six passport-size photographs (3.5 × 4.5 cm); photographs need to be signed at the back (name + surname + date of birth) using CAPITAL LETTERS, and cut to the proper size; no headgear allowed
- head covering for religious or medical grounds is allowed, however, covering of facial features is not permitted
10- Two photocopies of the applicant's health insurance; health insurance should be valid to cover the expenses of a medical care in Poland. In case you cannot/ have no such insurance a signed declaration that you will obtain an insurance upon arrival to Poland is acceptable
- if you hold a private insurance, please attach a declaration from your insurance company specifying the terms and scope of medical care and date of expiry (if the declaration is in different language than English or Polish, please attach an English sworn translation)
11- Any documents which can prove your medicine-related experience can be attached to the application
Each application submitted by the deadline enters a competition where the candidates with the best results in the subjects required are accepted. Sending an application alone does not guarantee enrolment.
