REMOVAL TO THE NEW PLACE OF RESIDENCE
Since October 2007 the Main Library is located in the former students’ club Trans building at Powstańców Wielkopolskich Street, near the State Clinical Hospital No 2 and next to the students’ hostels.
The removal of all collections was conducted in August and September 2007. Simultaneously each copy of the book or the journal was protected against theft by special magnetic stripe.
More than 270,000 volumes were transferring in the special containers, shelve after shelve, during 60 days to the new library. After that the items were located on the special mobile shelves /Mobile Storage System/ which save place and maximize storage capacity. There are 9,000 mb /running metres/ of shelves in the library’s storeroom.
