Main interest

• diagnosis of breast disease
• X-ray and Doppler ultrasound diagnosis in urogenital disease
• Doppler and X-ray phlebography
• diagnostic radiology and ultrasonography of the stomatognathic system
• ultrasonography in diseases of the eye

Current research projects

• prevention of breast tumors using genetic studies
• study of head and neck tumors
• examination of kidney grafts
• hormonal disorders and changes in the breasts and thyroid gland
• ultrasound and arteriographic evaluation of vessels in atherosclerosis
• Doppler ultrasound examination of the vascularization of the eye in endocrine disorders and atherosclerosis

Research methods used

• conventional diagnostic radiology; pantomography, tomography, ultrasonography, color Doppler ultrasonography, vascular studies
• mammography, ultrasonography of the breast, USG and X-ray guided biopsy

Future research plans

• prevention of breast cancer in high-risk groups (jointly with the Department of Genetics and Pathomorphology, PAM)
• prevention of prostatic and renal cancer (jointly with the Departments of Genetics and Pathomorphology, Urology, PAM)
• hormonal disorders, osteoporosis and mammographic findings (jointly with the Department of Endocrinology, Arterial Hypertension and Metabolic Diseases, PAM)
• vascular disorders in diseases of the eye (jointly with the Chair and Department of Ophthalmology with the Department of Pathophysiology of the Organ of Vision and Chair and Department of Ophthalmology, PAM)
• ultrasound evaluation of conservative and surgical treatment of aneurysms of abdominal aorta (jointly with the Department of General and Vascular Surgery, PAM)
• control USG examinations after surgery of varicose veins performed with different methods (jointly with the Department of General and Hand Surgery and Department of General and Transplantation Surgery, PAM)

Medical services

The Department provides diagnostic services for clinical departments of PAM, First and Second State Clinical Hospitals, Friends of the Pomorzany Hospital Fund, Provincial General Hospital, „Medicus” Collaborative Specialists Clinical Center, firms in Szczecin and health centers in Goleniów, Świnoujście and Kamień Pomorski
