• epidemiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and treatment of acute and chronic liver diseases caused by viruses
• epidemiology and treatment of HIV infection
• hospital infections

Current research projects

• epidemiology of HBV and HCV infections in Western Pomerania
• treatment with interferon of B and C type chronic hepatitis
• epidemiology and symptoms of borreliosis
• epidemiology and symptoms of AIDS

Research methods used

• descriptive and statistical analysis of biochemical and immunoserological tests in the clinic
• quantitative endotoxin measurement in plasma using enzyme test
• immunoserological assays using ELISA

• continuation of the present studies
