Research
Main interest
- the role of bacteria in inflammatory and allergic reactions
- hospital infections, infections by MRSA, Helicobacter pylori, Chlamydia trachomatis
- genetic studies in atopy and marital infertility concerning HLA class l and II genes
Current research projects
- the liberation of histamine caused by endo- and exogenous bacteria and analysis of basocyte inhibiting factors - genetic risk factors in bronchial asthma and bronchitis with bronchospasm: analysis of HLA class 1 and II antigens
- characterization of MRSA strains (isolated in hospital infections)
- the role of Helicobacter pylori in infections of the stomach and duodenum
Research methods used
- fluorimetric method for assaying histamine agglutination method for assaying antibodies histamine liberation tests of endo- and exogenous bacteria direct and indirect immunofluorescence
- two-stage mielocytotoxic Mittal's test for studying HLA CLASS I and II antigens
Future research plans
- immunological mechanisms of bacterial autovaccines in various atopic and non-atopic allergic diseases
- diagnosis utilizing molecular biology methods in bacteriology and virology, for transplantations and scientific research
Medical services
- clinical specialties: microbiology, immunology, allergology
- special laboratory and diagnostics facilities: autovaccines for trea- ting various bacterial infections, atopic and non-atopic allergy; microbiological diagnosis of HeMicokacter pylori and Chlamydia trachomatis; analysis of HLA class I and II antigens; studies of serum antibodies using Kep-2 cell line; immunological profile: percentage of CD19, CD3, CD4 and CD8 lymphocytes, immune regulation index CD4/CD8, level of complement components C4 and C3; migration inhibition test of mononuclear cells
