Main interest

• epidemiology and prevention of circulatory diseases with emphasis on ischemic heart disease
• regression of atherosclerosis
• pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods of treating arrhythmias
• pathophysiology of coronary circulation
• diagnosis and treatment of syncopes

Current research projects

• the use of ablation in the treatment of tachyarrhythmias
• prolonged postprandial lipemia as risk factor of ischemic heart disease
• metabolism of probucol and its penetration to the arterial wall
• electrotherapy and pharmacotherapy in atrial flutter with ultra- sound assessment of atrial hemodynamics
• low-energy intracardiac cardioversion in treating paroxysmal and permanent atrial fibrillation
• indications for the dobutamine test in the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease
• effective refraction as a factor in the diagnosis of sinus node disease
• complex diagnostics of cardiogenic syncopes
• selective indications for antiarrhythmic drugs
• incidence of restenosis following angioplasty and coronary stents
