Main interest

• diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of the injured hand
• surgical treatment of alimentary tract neoplasms
• treatment of posttraumatic disability of the hand

Current research projects

• diagnosis and treatment of Sudeck's syndrome of the upper extremity
• treatment of peripheral nerve paralysis of the upper extremity
• recurrent struma in the endemic region of Western Pomerania
• the use of mechanical suture in alimentary tract surgery

Research methods used

• ultrasound and biochemical postoperative examination of the thyroid gland
• X-ray and scintigraphic imaging in allodystrophic syndromes of the upper extremity
• complete evaluation of hand function after restorative surgery in peripheral nerve paralysis
• intraoperative choledochoscopic examination of bile ducts

Future research plans

• assessment of the figure-of-eight tenodesis in hand dysfunction
• the use of the greater omentum in the treatment of post-traumatic tissue loss of the upper extremity
• free microvascular grafts in fresh hand injury
