Main interest

• improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of myelo- and lymphoproliferative diseases

Current research projects

• residual neoplastic disease in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma
• prevention of involvement of the central nervous system in acute leukemias and high-grade non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas
• the efficacy and toxicity of 2-chlorodeoxyadenosine as the first-line drug in treating chronic B-cell lymphocytic leukemia

Research methods used

• histopathology and immunohistology of the bone marrow
• platelet aggregation, activity of beta-thromboglobulin and platelet factor 4 assays
• digital analysis of microscopic images

Future research plans

• studies on the resistance to cytostatics in patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas
• early diagnosis of cytomegalovirus infections in patients with acute leukemias and high-grade lymphomas
