Main interest

• pathophysiology of uterine contractions
• diagnosis, treatment and prevention in premature delivery
• therapeutic procedures in premature and hypotrophic infants with emphasis on the central nervous system
• therapeutic procedures in cardiovascular diseases during pregnancy
• cardiotocography and ultrasonography in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of high-risk pregnancy

• diagnostic, therapeutic and prophylactic protocols in premature delivery
• tocography in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of premature delivery
• ischemic heart disease: risk factors during normal and pathologic pregnancy and during normal and premature delivery
• studies on the etiopathogenesis of premature delivery
• psychosomatic factors in premature delivery
• biophysical and biochemical studies of the central nervous system in neonatal pathology
• data processing in cardiotocography for diagnosing fetal distress
• improvements in collection, in vitro growth, preservation and transport of young hematopoietic cells isolated from human umbilical blood

Future research plans

• continuation of the present studies
• study of the spectrum and velocity of the flow wave in uterine arteries and umbilical artery during threatened abortion and premature delivery
• Doppler ultrasonography of the fetal and utero-placental circulation in pregnancies complicated by intrauterine growth retardation and oligohydramnios
• monitoring of uterine contractions in the outpatient and home setting as part of a complex program of preventing premature delivery in Poland
• improvements in collection, in vitro growth, preservation and transport of young hematopoietic cells isolated from human umbilical blood
