Main interest

studies on factors necessary for normal pregnancy, influencing the condition of the fetus and newborn
Current research projects

risk factors for the fetus and newborn due to diabetes (type I and I1, diabetes of pregnancy)

vasoactive factors in pregnancy (EPH gestosis, hypertension, diabetes)
fetus maturity and problems in accelerating lung maturation - hypotrophy of fetus
treatment during pregnancy and after birth -
immunological risk factors during pregnancy: habitual abortion, antiphospholipid syndrome, systemic diseases of connective tissue

erythropoietin in umbilical blood as an index of chronic hypoxia of the fetus during high-risk pregnancy

assessment of neurological development during the first year of life in children from high-risk pregnancies

continuous monitoring of arterial blood pressure in pregnant women and newborns

Doppler ultrasonography of blood flow in uterine and fetal vessels

amniocentesis, cordocentesis in Rh incompatibility and other pathologic conditions of pregnancy

the role of vasoactive factors: endothelin, angiotensin II, catecholamines, prostanoids, angiotensin receptors, in regulating blood pressure during pregnancy complicated by diabetes

disorders of carbohydrate metabolism during the 3rd trimester in : the diabetic gravida and during tocolytic therapy in relation to the level of erythropoietin, fructosamine and insulin in umbilical blood and to the condition of the newborn

antiphospholipid syndrome in obstetrics: clinical and experimental studies in animals

cellular and humoral immunity in pregnancy and intrauterine hypotrophy

evening primrose oil and maturation of fetus during experimental hypotrophy in the rabbit

generation of steroids following administration of magnesium sulfate to prevent premature delivery
