Main interest

• bone tissue metabolism in humans and animals with emphasis on the role of fluorine compounds
• trace elements in biological material
• biological oxidation and cellular mechanisms of protection against the loss of oxido-reductive properties
• studies of the oxido-reductive system of the blood, including: catalase, SOD, GSH-Px, GSH, Vit. C and E, Se, MDA, with special reference to their levels in diseases caused by free radical reactions

Current research projects

• Fluorine compounds as biological hazard for the fetus
• interaction of fluorine compounds with proteins of the respiratory chain in the animal cell with emphasis on the role of cytochrome c
• trace elements in biological fluids, teeth and bones of humans and animals
• influence of polyvalent anions in the natural environment of the cell on the spectral properties of cytochrome oxidase
• biochemical analysis of collagen and other proteins of the extra-cellular matrix of connective tissue, taking into account the interrelationships between collagen, elastin and elastase
