Main interest

• new methods for prevention and treatment of hyperlipemia and experimental atherosclerosis with emphasis of plant-derived drugs
• pharmacokinetics of drugs in human pathology (diseases of the digestive system, hyperlipemia, unilateral nephrectomy, ovariectomy

Current research projects

• the influence of bioflavonoids on experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits
• comparative pharmacokinetics of propranolol and atenolol in hyperlipemia and partial gastrectomy
• the influence of standardized exercise (treadmill) on the fate of drugs in the body
• the influence of obesity on pharmacokinetics
• usefulness of the lidocain test in assessing liver function during experiments (liver perfusion) and in the clinic (liver cirrhosis)
• the influence of natural antioxidants on liver pathology in rats

Research methods used

• gas chromatography, HPLC, FPIA, spectrometry, liver perfusion, treadmill for standardized exercise, biochemical and morphological methods

Future research plans

• study of new natural and synthetic antiatherogenic drugs
