Main interest

• the application of animal models to pharmacokinetic studies (extrahepatic cholestasis, nephrectomy, hyperlipemia)
• polymorphism of enzymes in the metabolism of xenobiotics

Current research projects

• the influence of experimental extrahepatic cholestasis on the absorption, distribution and elimination of drugs
• acetylation and hydroxylation phenotype in healthy subjects and in various diseases
• determination of CYP2D6, NAT2 and GSTM1 genotypes using PCR

Future research plans

• analysis of the hydroxylation phenotype using dextromethorphan as a model substance
• analysis of the CYP1A1, CYP2E1 and NAT2 genotypes using caffeine
